# Delete LinkedIn post

> Delete one of OUR OWN LinkedIn posts, addressed by activity_urn (wire delete-post). The counterpart of create_linkedin_post and the way to retract a post an agent published: pass the activity_urn that create_linkedin_post returned, or the post URL. LinkedIn only deletes the account's own posts and we do not pre-validate that. Identity-bound: linkedin_account_sid REQUIRED, spends the SAME posting bucket as publishing (20/day in series of 3 at a 1200 s pause; free plan 4 - the series is what lets a publish and its delete fit back-to-back), saturation returns 429. Backend urns (urn:li:share:, urn:li:ugcPost:) are NOT accepted here even though create_linkedin_post returns one: the wire builds its payload from the numeric activity id. A refusal - not your post, already gone - comes back as 409 post_not_deleted with LinkedIn's own toast in error.context, never as a success. Nothing is stored on this service, so nothing local is deleted either.

Contract:
- MCP tool `delete_linkedin_post`, registry package `mcp.linkedin/linkedin_posting`, mount `linkedin.content`.
- Operation `action`, response envelope `action`.
- Flags: dangerous: the MCP layer gates it behind a preview/commit token, and the effect cannot be undone through this API.

## OpenAPI

````yaml /api-reference/linkedin/openapi.yaml post /api/linkedin-posting/delete-post
openapi: 3.0.3
info:
  title: 'GTM API public contract: gtm.service.linkedin'
  description: >-
    Connected LinkedIn accounts and everything driven through them: account
    health and smart limits, conversations and messages, the connection graph,
    outbound posting, scraping, profile and company enrichment, and the
    antidetect browsers that execute it all.
    GENERATED. This document is projected from the Zod MCP tool registry in
    `product/mcp/gtm.mcp` (one tool per public endpoint, 1:1). Do not edit it by
    hand; edit the tool definition and regenerate with `pnpm openapi:public`.
    Surface: the public `/api` contract of `gtm.service.linkedin`, 167
    operations. This is the only OpenAPI document the platform publishes.
    Internal (`/internal`) and health endpoints are deliberately absent: they
    are not part of any contract, they can change without notice, and the
    service source is their only description.
    Conventions:
    - Auth is a bearer JWT, optionally narrowed by the `Team-SID` header.
    - Every success body is an MCP envelope: `success: true` plus one typed
    `operation` shape (`search`, `get`, `create`, `update`, `delete`, `metrics`,
    `group_by`, `action`), and a `meta` block with `trace_id` for support.
    - Every failure is the same `McpError` envelope with a code from a fixed
    16-code taxonomy, so a client maps errors once.
    - Lists page with `page_size` (0 to 500, default 50) plus an opaque forward
    `cursor`; `page_size: 0` returns counts only.
    - On `GET` and `DELETE`, object-valued query parameters (`filter`, `sort`)
    travel as JSON text and array-valued ones repeat as `name[]=value`.
    - The MCP-only `_meta` field (usage analytics) never reaches the backend and
    is not part of this contract.
